Yan Makeyev, MD is board certified in Medical Oncology, Hematology and Internal Medicine. He has received his medical degree from the State University of New York, Downstate College of Medicine, in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Makeyev completed his Internal Medicine residency at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, and fellowship in hematology oncology at New York University Medical Center. He later served as an attending physician in Bronx VA Hospital and an assistant professor of clinical medicine in Columbia University in New York. While there, he was involved in training of future hematologists/oncologists, clinical research, quality improvement in oncology, and medical informatics. Dr. Makeyev received awards and recognition in medical education, biomedical and clinical research. He is President of Clay County Medical Society.
