Dr. Winston Tan is a Professor of Medicine at Mayo Clinic. Areas of interest include Genitourinary Cancer and Melanoma. He is focused on translating basic science principles into tangible treatment options for patients with cancer. He is interested in developing novel therapy targets, including immunotherapy, which would lead to less toxic treatments for cancer. These treatments would also lead to meaningful improvement of quality of life, prolonging the time to cancer progression and hopefully improved survival. Dr. Tan’s professional highlights are his leadership roles as Vice Chair of Hematology/Oncology at Mayo Clinic Florida for Education, Associate Chair for Faculty Development, Department of Medicine, Mayo Clinic Florida, Former Fellowship Program Director Hematology/Oncology, Mayo Clinic Florida, Board Member and Past President of the Florida Society of Clinical Oncology (FLASCO). He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and serves on the Member Survivorship Committee of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Dr. Tan is a passionate, empowering, and focused cancer researcher and educator.
