Noman Ashraf

Dr. Noman Ashraf is a board-certified hematologist-oncologist who specializes in thoracic and head and neck oncology at the Tampa General Hospital Cancer Institute. He is currently an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of South Florida (USF) and remains passionate about clinical research and education. He has been actively involved with the hematology and medical oncology fellowship program at USF/Moffitt Cancer Center where he was nominated for the USF Outstanding GME Faculty award.
Dr. Ashraf earned his medical degree with honors from Aga Khan University, completed his residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston then moved to Tampa for his fellowship in hematology oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center. After completing his training, he joined the James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital where he became the assistant chief of the division of hematology oncology. In 2022, he joined the Tampa General Hospital Cancer Institute as the medical director for clinical operations.
As an invited speaker Dr. Ashraf, has presented at numerous regional, national, and international conferences. He has formally trained over 80 post-graduate fellows, including many who are now faculty members at well-renowned cancer centers throughout the country. Dr. Ashraf is involved in clinical research and serves as the principal investigator for various clinical trials. His work has been published in top peer-reviewed journals such as JAMA Oncology, Oncologist, JNCCN and Biology of Blood and Marrow Transplantation. Additionally, he is the author of several book chapters and presentations in his areas of expertise.
