Mayra Lima, MSN, APRN, FNP-C is an APRN at the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center – Plantation.  Mrs. Lima has been a Registered Nurse since 1985 (30 years). She has worked in many different roles such as ER, Ophthalmology, Surgery, Disease Case Management, and Director of Nursing. She accomplished this all the while continuing her education and completing her Bachelor’s degree at FIU, followed by the Masters in Nursing Science and Family Nurse Practitioner with a Certificate in Gerontology by December of 2000.

As an NP, Ms. Lima, has dedicated her work to oncology and solid tumors in GI and Research at UM/Sylvester for 6 years. Ms. Lima decided to dedicate herself to helping those with breast cancer once she became a survivor of breast cancer herself. She has worked with breast cancer patients for the past 9+years. She previously served patients at Memorial Breast Cancer Center.

In her personaI life, she loves to travel, arts & crafts, dancing, music and all within the context of her family. Ms. Lima’s survival of breast cancer propelled her to do half marathons. since 2007 she has completed 16.
