Dr. Jason Starr joins our Southpoint and Southside locations after completing his hematology/medical oncology fellowship training at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville.
Dr. Starr believes every patient has a story about their journey in life. “I have learned that my patients define the human spirit in their fight against cancer.” He looks forward to developing relationships with his patients and being there for them in their time of need.
Dr. Starr enjoys the ability to deliver the very best cancer care to each and every one of his patients. “What I hope to see is already in evolution, personalized cancer care. This means we will be able to analyze the genetic make-up of that individual’s cancer and based on the genetic alterations identified provide a ‘targeted’ therapy.”
Originally from Houston, TX, Dr. Starr grew up in South Florida. He wants to continue the excellent reputation of CSNF and make an impact for the people of Jacksonville. He hopes to also participate in many, many clinical trials to be able to offer his patients the latest and very best treatments. “I love football and I am an avid Jaguars and Dallas Cowboys fan. I also enjoy golfing and cycling. My family, friends, and career are my life.”
