Gail has been in the healthcare industry since 1982 and Medical Oncology since 1986. She went to Fisher College in Boston and then moved to the west coast and lived in Los Angeles from 1982 to 1986 where she managed a general medicine and cardiology practice.
Dr. Edward Knight, Gail’s father, was a practicing Medical Oncologist in Rockledge, Florida. He asked her to come and run his practice in 1986 and even though she wasn’t sure she wanted to work for her father, she accepted and has been in the same office for almost 29 years as the Manager of Operations for Cancer Care Centers of Brevard. Gail has preceded all of the 8 Medical Oncologists currently practicing at Cancer Care Centers of Brevard. Medical Oncology has been very challenging and yet, she can’t think of doing anything else.
Gail worked with the University of Central Florida and Oncology Managers of Florida to develop a certificate program specific to the Management of Medical Oncology which was repeated at UCF 4 times. Gail has been on the board of Oncology Managers of Florida since 1992 and after holding the position of President in 1997and 2007, she continued as Vendor Coordinator. Gail’s claim to fame was when she was 6 years old and lived in Stockbridge, Massachusetts she went on a house call to Norman Rockwell, the famous illustrator’s house with her father.
