Benefits

The Florida Society of Clinical Oncology (FLASCO) is a nationally recognized state professional society that serves as an important resource for advocacy, education and communications in support of those engaged in the battle against cancer. All medical, radiation, gyn, and surgical oncologists; PharmDs; and Pathologists who work in the field of oncology in the State of Florida are eligible for REGULAR Membership. Other nonphysician healthcare professionals and support staff (e.g., nurses, physician assistants, radiation therapists, office managers, etc.) are eligible for AFFILIATE Membership. All Fellows in the State of Florida are eligible for ASSOCIATE Membership.

As of January 2023, FLASCO has a distinguished network of over 4,400 oncology healthcare providers who support FLASCO’s very important mission and its recognition as “The Voice of Oncology in Florida.”

Dues

Membership is complimentary and there are no dues for Regular and Affiliate Members through December 31, 2022. If a member attends one FLASCO sponsored or co-sponsored event before December 31, 2024, they are eligible for another two years of free membership. Associate Members receive complimentary membership.

FLASCO Mission

FLASCO is committed to the mission of facilitating and promoting multidisciplinary efforts to improve patient care in Florida by:

  • Fostering access to quality cancer care to the citizens of Florida
  • Assisting cancer practitioners in providing the most cost-effective quality care for their patients
  • Acting as an advocate for Florida’s cancer patients and their families; and
  • Coordinating the dissemination of information and providing an opportunity for oncologists, physicians and other healthcare professionals to network and exchange information

State and National Impact

  • Representation at national meetings (ASCO, ASH, ACCC, COA, ASTRO, NCCN, ETC)

Like any hero, every oncology clinician needs a sidekick. FLASCO is that unwavering, trusted partner. As tireless patient advocates, we lead state legislative efforts, champion cancer research, and secure funding to advance the future of oncology and develop tomorrow’s oncology leaders. We provide oncology experts the network, intellectual resources and support to give patients the highest quality of care.

We serve all areas from medical oncology/hematology to radiation oncology to surgical oncology. Beyond diagnosis and treatment, FLASCO is dedicated to serving the vastly growing need for survivorship care. Through digital and social communication advancements and an ongoing commitment to meaningful and relevant personal interactions, we will develop new forums to share ideas and deliver breakthroughs for our
patients.

Existing for a powerful mission, FLASCO’s work raises the overall standard of oncology practice. Together, our members set a bar that cancer patients will come to expect. Patients will find hope in the excellent level of care available to them in Florida, and will regard FLASCO membership as proof of this elevated standard.
