January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month

FLASCO

January is cervical cancer awareness month. Because of social determinants that affect access to screening,  HPV vaccinations and treatment,  there is disparity in  outcome in cervical cancer in Hispanic women. Cervical cancer incidence and mortality among Hispanic women are about 30%-40% higher than those among non Hispanic White women. The American Cancer Society updated  Cancer Facts & Figures for Hispanic/Latino People 2021-2023 in September 2021. Share the need of  cervical cancer screening to narrow the gap.

Attached are the links to  screening guidelines for HPV in English and Spanish for patients and providers from the American Cancer Society.
