Dr. Ayman Barakat Joins Florida Cancer Specialists in Hernando County

Spring Hill, FL – August 16, 2016. . . Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute (FCS), the leading community oncology/hematology practice in the state, is pleased to announce that Ayman Barakat, MD has joined the practice and is seeing patients at two FCS locations in Hernando County, FL. Dr. Barakat will practice at the Brooksville office, located at 7154 Medical Center Drive, Spring Hill, FL. and at the County Line Road office, located at 11063 County Line Road, Spring Hill, FL.
FCS CEO Brad Prechtl said, “After working two years in a community oncology practice in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Dr. Barakat moved to Florida and has spent the past few years practicing in the greater Tampa area. He will be bringing his expertise to the Hernando community and offer added convenience and his experience to our patients. We are very pleased to have him in the FCS family.”

After earning his undergraduate medical degree, Dr. Ayman Barakat completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Texas and MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. He went on to practice internal medicine for several years, caring for patients in the Midwest area, before returning to Texas to finish his Fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, TX. Prior to moving to Florida, Dr. Barakat began his private practice as an associate member at the Tulsa Cancer Institute in Tulsa, OK. Fluent in four languages, he is well published in several recognized medical journals. While Dr. Barakat has a special interest in breast, colorectal and lung malignancies, he does evaluate and treat a broad spectrum of hematological and oncological diseases and takes pride in providing his patients with exceptional care, utilizing the most novel and evidence-based therapies in his practice.
