This morning an unprecedented 313 national and state health care organizations, including FLASCO sent a letter to Congress expressing strong concern with the proposed CMS Medicare Part B Drug Payment Model. The organizations request that Congress ask CMS to withdraw the proposed rule.
The letter notes that the organizations believe that “this type of initiative, implemented without sufficient stakeholder input, will adversely affect the care and treatment of Medicare patients with complex conditions, such as cancer, macular degeneration, hypertension, rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, and primary immunodeficiency diseases.”
The letter follows an outpouring of concern and opposition to the proposed CMS Medicare Part B Drug Payment Model, including three previous letters sent this month from 1) COA, 2) more than 60 allied cancer organizations, and 3) more than 100 organizations representing patients, providers, advocates, and others.
